Quantitative photoacoustic tomography is an imaging technique that estimates choromophore concentrations by combining optical information and the ultrasonic waves that arise from the photoacoustic effect. The discontinuous Galerkin method is used to the model photoacoustic wave propagation in a fluid with an elastic layer. Inversion is done within the Bayesian framework using adjoint wavefields. Bayesian approximation error approach is used to marginalise over the geometry of the elastic layer.
