Multi-Reference Factor Analysis - MRFAMS51

We introduce the problem of Multi-Reference Factor Analysis (MRFA), where a signal is to be estimated from many of its transformed observations, where each observation is generated by multiplying the signal by some random variable (say Gaussian), cyclically shifting the result, and adding noise. In this talk we will discuss the problem and it's applications. We show an algorithm that solves the MRFA problem, show error bounds, and demonstrate numerical results.

This presentation is part of Minisymposium “MS51 - Algorithms for Single Particle Reconstruction in Cryo-Electron Microscopy (cryo-EM). (3 parts)
