Biography

Mauricio Sacchi received a degree in Geophysics in 1988 from UNLP, Argentina, and a Ph.D. in Geophysics in 1996 from UBC, Canada. He has been with the Department of Physics at the University of Alberta since 1997. He is also the director of the Signal Analysis and Imaging Group, a university-industry consortium for seismic data imaging. He is the recipient of the CSEG Medal (Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists) in 2012. He was SEG Honorary Speaker in 2013 and CSEG Distinguished Lecturer in 2014. He has written over 200 articles and conference proceeding in the area of seismic signal processing and imaging and he has supervised more than 30 graduate students.
